Why I'm (we're) Not Hiring

Some labor food for thought.

Business responds (or should) to market forces.  When the business is unable to respond, or market forces are unable to drive businesses, the root cause of this "failure" is becoming more and more common...government meddling.

Additional costs incurred by the business can not be passed on to the consumer during these lean times.  So, either the business takes a loss, or, it reduces its input costs.  Thus, the business eliminates jobs.

If the government decides to intervene in this process, the invisible hand gets crushed.  "From where I sit, the government's message is unmistakable: Creating a new job carries a punishing price."
